Initially during the invite stage, we are inviting them to join us, while also teaching them how to join an activity in this method. Figure 2 Methods of Invitation Verbal Cue. A Verbal cue is an invitation. Statements such as "let me help you," "let me show you," or "let's do this together" work well. Initially, many students will not understand these cues. If they don't, try a simple gentle tap under their hand.
