Intermediate: able to read and write with occasional support Follow written instructions or a map to locate signs, specific items, and/or destinations in various settings (e.g., familiar indoor / outdoor areas; unfamiliar indoor / outdoor areas). Community Outings Through movement and exploration, people (children and adults alike) learn about and make sense of the world around them; and, this is no different for individuals with visual impairment. O&M outings, whether with an O&M specialist during instructional time or with family and friends during personal time, can be especially supportive of literacy
