17 VIDBE-Q Volume 64 Issue 3 provides a bridge that allows the student to participate and interact more within the environment and with the other people in the environment. This support person develops a close, trusting relationship with the student and is able to effectively recognize and respond to all of their communicative attempts, reliably provide additional information and support at a pace that the student can process and respond to, and facilitate their participation in class activities and routines and interactions with others. An intervener performs their role with direction and support from the teacher and related service providers also serving the student, yet also needs to creatively "think outside the box" and initiate providing information, support, and instruction whenever necessary. It is necessary for the classroom teacher and related service providers to continue to teach, model, and coach the intervener in important instructional strategies and supports related to their specific areas of expertise as well as seek feedback about the student's progress and educational and social needs from the intervener who works most consistently and directly with the student. This webinar about interveners will explore 1) the responsibilities and roles of this important related support provider; 2) the knowledge and skills an effective intervener should hold; 3) training opportunities available to interested paraeducators to prepare them for this role; and 4) tools to assist
