chop vegetables and meat, or pick out a good head of broccoli. Sometimes we even do art
with vegetables!
For us at OUB Camps, it isn't all that important that a child completely learns new skills
at camp. What matters is that our campers know that they CAN learn how to do new things.
Some skills are simple and are easily adapted for people who are blind or have low vision.
Some skills take more time than others because they are just more complicated. Our results
show that every OUB camper learns at least one thing when they come to camp, and they are
often more willing to help at home and work on learning new skills. When this happens, we
meet our mission to "building life skills, self-confidence and independence for children and
young adults who are blind or have low vision."
