Under the Writing domain, these activities include: - Braille Scramble – Students are presented with a base word and they must braille as many additional words using the letters from the base word as they can. This activity is designed to develop word knowledge, phoneme knowledge, and may prompt discussions of new vocabulary. - Blinking Braille – Students are presented with a word, phrase, or sentence in braille, and then it quickly disappears. The student must then reproduce what they saw with accuracy. The activity is designed to support short term and working memory, spelling, grammatical structure, and braille writing accuracy. - Repeated Writing – Students are presented with audio recordings of words, phrases, or sentences and they must accurately braille them. The activity is designed to support spelling and braille writing accuracy. 57
