VIDBE-Q 2026 Volume 71 Issue 2 Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in May of 2025. According to Dr. Savaiano, "Dr. Ericson's dissertation addresses a critical and often overlooked need in our field: ensuring that itinerant professionals receive high-quality, actionable feedback that strengthens instructional practices and outcomes for students." Through her dissertation she utilized qualitative methods with an innovative feedback model to advance the current research base as well as implications for working professionals and their supervisors to improve outcomes for teachers and students with visual impairments. Congratulations to Dr. Katie Ericson on the 2026 CEC Division on Visual Impairments and DeafBlindness Deborah Hatton Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award! 42
