VIDBE-Q 2025 Volume 70 Issue 1 Nominated by Katie Ericson Tristan Pierce is a multiple disabilities/physical education project leader at the American Printing House for the Blind (APH). At APH she has channeled her commitment to accessibility into tangible products that individuals with visual impairments, their families, and their teachers use in everyday life. Tristan regularly attends Camp Abilities to connect with student athletes, using that information and feedback from them to design adapted sports equipment. This is because Tristan's passion lies in accessible, adapted physical activity for individuals with visual impairments. In her role at APH, she has worked to develop products that provide access to sport and leisure activities. She continues to be a vocal advocate for the development of blind tennis in the United States, providing hands-on experiences at this summer's AER International Conference. However, she has also helped develop APH products that provide access to the Expanded Core Curriculum and general education curriculum for students with additional disabilities. Tristan has shared her work with the larger vision community at both local and international conferences, such as the biannual Exemplary Advocate Award: Tristan Pierce
