ProgramDescription
TheVisualImpairmentprogramwillprepareyou
withtheskillsandknowledgenecessaryto
effectivelyaddresstheuniqueeducationalneeds
ofstudentswithvisualimpairmentorblindness.
Thisonlineprogramisofferedthroughthe
UniversityofNebraskaLincolnandistheresult
ofthecollaborativeeffortsof:
• TheUNLDepartmentofSpecialEducation
andCommunicationDisordersatthe
BarkleyMemorialCenter
• NebraskaDepartmentofEducation
• NebraskaCenterfortheEducationof
ChildrenwhoareBlindorVisuallyImpaired
(NCECBVI)
• KansasStateSchoolfortheBlind
SpecialAccreditation
InadditiontotheHigherLearningCommission
accreditationcarriedbyallUniversityof
Nebraskadegrees,thisprogramisalso
accreditedbythefollowingorganizations:
• CouncilforExceptionalChildren
• NebraskaDepartmentofEducation
• TeacherEducationAccreditationCouncil
SpecialRequirement
Thisprogramisofferedonlineduringthe
academicyearwithafewweeksofskillbased
coursesfortwosummersatNCECBVI.

Tuition
Studentswhoareadmittedtotheprogramfrom
NebraskaorKansasmaybeeligibleforatuition
waiverforthecoreVisualImpairmentcourses.
