only. The Position Papers Committee was
commissioned to review and lead the revision process of all DVI position papers.
There were also amendments made that
allowed for online voting on all issues
within the division.
2. The DVI website is currently under revision. CEC has provided an infrastructure
for its units (divisions and states) to create
a website within the CEC's existing website. DVI was the first division to elect to
use this resource because it provided a
mechanism for providing a "member's only"
area and connect more closely with CEC.
The Website ad hoc committee plans to
have the new website "go live" on January
1, 2014.
3. The O&M Committee led the work to provide ACVREP CE's at the 2013 CEC Convention after testing this at the 2012 Convention. This year it was noted in the CEC
schedule guide and was well received by
the attendees and CEC.
4. DVI has represented the special education
for students with visual impairments professional field on various committees, workgroups, and individual tasks within CEC,
including supporting making CEC's activities more accessible to individuals with visual impairments.
5. Mike Bina, the DVI CAN Coordinator, continues to be a leading voice within the CEC
Public Policy network and represents the
field very well.
6. DVI and AER are currently collaborating on
developing a policy for sharing position papers across the two organizations.
