President's Message Derrick Smith It is probably very odd to have both the "Editor's Message" and "President's Message" to come from the same person. I have to agree! However, it is necessary for the first two issues that we are doing, as I will be serving in both roles. It was difficult to determine what to focus upon since it has been some time since my last "President's Message." I will attempt to provide an overview of the Division's activities since the last published issue, which was published after the 2012 CEC Convention and Expo in Denver, Colorado. Since the Denver convention, the Division has had two meetings - one at APH in October, 2012, and one at the 2013 CEC Convention and Expo in San Antonio, Texas. At these meetings, the organization continued to work on developing a long-term strategic plan that would move the Division forward and meet the needs of the membership. Here are a few items of note from during this time: 6 1. Several amendments were ratified at the CEC General Assembly in San Antonio. While most of the amendments were simple in nature, there were a few of note. The Publications Committee and the Position Papers Subcommittee were split into two separate committees and were provided with specific responsibilities. The Publications Committee was tasked with creating resources for the membership that would be provided online for members
