practice and meeting children's needs. In order to support implementation of
interdisciplinary collaboration, the following activities and practices from the
LIMITLESS program may be useful while planning coursework, practicum
experiences, and professional development.
Coursework
During the two-year master's program, all three disciplines participated
simultaneously for the majority of the coursework. This provided opportunities for
the scholars to learn not only the foundations of early intervention, but also to
practice collaborative intervention strategies and learn from one another. Specific
coursework was designed to address interdisciplinary collaboration across a variety
of topics including co-treating and teaming, global assessments, intervention, and
language and literacy. This led to rich class discussions among scholars, who
approached each task from a different specialized framework.
Activities
A variety of activities and assignments were completed to prepare scholars
in child development across all domains, not just their content area. Using global
assessment tools as reference materials, scholars worked individually and in groups
to sort and organize skills into domain and age range areas. Scholars spent time
familiarizing themselves with the range of developmental domains and drawing
connections to their specialty areas. Additionally, scholars were required to watch
