VIDBE-Q 2025 Volume 70 Issue 2
DCMP maintains an online video library of thousands of educational videos
that can be streamed on demand. There are videos for students from pre-K through
high school. They cover all academic topics, such as math, science, history,
language arts, and more. But there are also videos on social-emotional learning,
mental health, sex education, self-advocacy, independent living skills, and even the
expanded core curriculum. DCMP videos cover almost any topic a teacher or
parent would want to teach their student about.
In addition, the videos are correlated with the Common Core and state
standards. Teachers who live in a state that follows the Common Core Standards
can search the database for a video that teaches a specific standard. They can also
search by their own state's standards. Teachers who live in states that do not follow
the Common Core Standards can still search by their state's standards. This makes
it easy for teachers to find videos to teach a specific standard. Or, if they see a
video they like, they can document the standards it follows and find additional
videos that teach those standards.
The DCMP website is also fully accessible. The video player allows users to
turn on or off various accessibility features and customize them to meet the needs
of individual students. For example, if a student has both vision and hearing loss,
users can turn on both the audio description and captions. The captions can be
customized to meet that student's needs by enlarging the font, changing the color
