VIDBE-Q Volume 69 Issue 3 Cody Alvarez calvarez@seeitourway.org Julie Oliver joliver@seeitourway.org Foundation for Blind Children For the past twelve years, the Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) has hosted an event that brings smiles and a sense of pride to our students and their families—the Annual Fashion Show. As FBC's Community Engagement Manager, Cody Alvarez, first author, has had the privilege of overseeing and watching this event grow and evolve into a tradition that showcases the spirit of our students. The Fashion Show began with a simple idea from one of our counselors who wanted to celebrate Mother's Day in a special way. The concept of a fancy tea party and fashion show was born, and our Central Campus multipurpose room became the venue for the first show. It was an instant hit! However, as we listened to feedback from the families, we realized we could make it even better by including all parents and grandparents. By the third year, we had moved the event Annual Fashion Show at the Foundation for Blind Children
