VIDBE-Q Volume 65 Issue 2 78 efficacy. Content Putting Your Best Foot Forward includes about 40 hours of content across five units (listed in Table 1). The program content addresses career education and several other areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum, such as independent living skills (e.g., dress and grooming for an interview), social interaction skills (e.g., nonverbal communication, body language), and self-determination (e.g., problem- solving, self-awareness). Two trainers deliver the content through a series of group sessions and individual activities (see Table 1 for examples). During the group sessions, youth learn job search skills through interactive activities such as discussions, small-group exercises, brainstorming, and role play exercises, which give all youth opportunities to contribute and share their knowledge and experiences. The individual activities allow youth to practice their newly-learned skills in a supportive environment. Throughout the program, youth develop strategies to overcome employment barriers, get social support and encouragement from adults and peers, and increase their confidence in their ability to find a job on their own.
