E a ch track s ha res c o m m o n c ou rses a n d f a c u lt y members . St u d e n ts who have c om p le t e d on e o f the c e rt i f ica t e p r o g ra m s are e l ig ible t o trai n toward a m a st e r's degree or dual certification . TVI courses are offered only at the graduate level — either to add TVI certification to an existing teaching certificate or as part of a master's degree in special education with specialization in visual impairment. O&M courses are offered at the undergrad uate level in an on - campus program with students earning a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation with a concentration in O&M. Graduate - level candidates can receive a certification only or work toward a master's degree in special education with specializat ion in O&M or VI. All certifications are contingent upon successful completion of the necessary examinations through ACVREP for O&M specialists or two TExES exams (Braille and visual impairment) for TVIs. Graduate applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree (in any field) from an accredited university. A pp l i c a n ts to t h e VI p ro g ram also must h a v e a v a l i d t ea c h ing c e rt i f ica t e . T eachers from states other than Texas must meet their specific state requirements.
