Please feel free to contact the authors for more information on topics presented. Please be sure to read the updates on several projects in which our division is currently involved including updates on the professional standards for teachers of students with visual impairments. This committee continues to work very hard to meet all requirements and deadlines from CEC. We also have added news from our field in this edition that includes efforts to increase our low vision service provider directory. The Program Advisory Committee has been working all summer to put together an excellent program for our convention in Boston. This committee is also working to put together additional learning opportunities beyond those sessions being presented. Please look for additional information about the convention in our journal, the website, and on Facebook. I want to thank all of our committee members and board members on all that they are doing this year on behalf of DVIDB. We have a field full of amazing people that are dedicated to ensuring that our students with visual impairments receive the best education possible. 8
