; Lorem Ipsum Dolor Spring 2016 2 The Professional Development Committee has been working hard to begin the long process of updating our standards for preparing teachers of students with visual impairments. This committee, which is also under the leadership of Deborah Hatton, has begun to hold a series of informational meetings about this process and has done a great job of keeping our division updated on the progress. Please look for updates of the work of this committee in upcoming issues of the "Q", upcoming meetings and conventions, as well as in social media posts. Amy Parker and Nicole Johnson volunteered their time to represent our division at the CEC Leadership Meeting. This is an annual meeting in the summer that brings together leadership teams from all divisions and chapters. It gives these leaders a chance to receive updates from the larger CEC organization, training on membership and leadership endeavors, and time to plan for the next year's CEC convention. Amy and Nicole presented their notes to the board and the board will use this information in planning for the upcoming year.
