Fostering Success in Mathematics for Students
with Visual Impairments

A survey was developed for teachers of the visually impaired (TVIs) to
solicit information regarding instruction in mathematics. The survey included
10 questions and three of the questions were open-ended to allow for
reporting successful methods. Some domains of the survey included: level of
preparation for teaching students with visual impairments, the most effective
methods for working with these students, and the importance of collaboration
between TVIs and general education mathematics teachers. There were 35
