Although I am a firm believer that our first and foremost priority is the development of the kids we serve, I always enjoy recruiting new people to work with us as coaches and witnessing the same elation that I experienced when I was a coach. Perhaps more importantly, is knowing that this program helps our athletes become their own advocates, develop long-lasting networks, and gain confidence in what they can do. I can confirm with confidence that I have chosen the right field. Conclusions Camp Abilities Alaska is a one-week developmental sports camp for school-aged individuals with visual impairments and blindness. Many children and youth from around the state of Alaska, and pre-service teachers come from across the United States, have been influenced by this program and others like it.
