The 2014 Annual Convention and Expo was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during
April. Just as the Founding Fathers of the United States utilized the city of Brotherly Love as a
meeting place to sign the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the Division of
Visual Impairments made history there as well. The DVI Board proposed to the membership to
expand our name to the Division of Visual Impairments and Deafblindness (DVIDB). I am
very proud to say that the motion passed and the request has been approved by the CEC Board
of Directors. With this approval we are now known as DVIDB!
