Nemeth Code within Unified English Braille (UEB) Contexts (hereafter
called Nemeth Code) provides access to grade-level mathematics and science
materials for students who are blind or visually impaired and read braille. When
Nemeth Code instruction is integrated with math, it is more meaningful and may
lead to improved student performance. For the first time, there is a free online
curriculum to teach the Nemeth Code. The presentation highlighted the step-by-
step curriculum for young students, focused lessons for students of all ages, and the
Nemeth symbol library. Since a field study of the curriculum was conducted in the
fall of 2022, we concluded the presentation with a brief description of those results.
