Target Audience: Attendees of pre-conference, TVIs, O&M specialists,

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, learning the complexities of travel as
a nondriver or potential low vision driver, was a challenge for many travelers in
their teens or early 20s. I'm not talking those O&M skills such as crossing a
complex intersection or numbering systems. Rather, I'm talking about those subtler
skills such as how to hire a driver, what to share with individuals about your visual
impairment as it relates to travel, and understanding the pros and cons of each
travel method. For those who have the potential to become low vision drivers,
understanding the laws, process for learning to use a bioptic, and the impact of
weather conditions on driving is important.
