Deborah Hatton changed my life with just one phone call. I had
cultivated a relationship with her when I was earning my master's degree at
Vanderbilt University and working for the visual disabilities department; we
kept in touch after I graduated and I was workin g as a special educator. I
was unhappy with my current job and not sure what to do next when
Deborah asked me a question that would forever change everything for me,
"why don't you come and work with me?" Nothing
